02:01 pm - Internet?

Hey everyone!

So, I'm moving out of residence this year and sharing a place with my friends. I was wondering if anyone could offer some imput/reviews on the various internet providers in Kingston? Which one is the best/most reliable?

For cable, there's Cogeco...had them for a year when I was in a house with others and they seemed okay (if expensive). If you're getting cable and a landline phone, they're probably your best bet. If you're going for DSL, there's a bunch of choices (Bell, TekSavvy, Acanac, Kingston Online Services, WTC). Of those, I'd recommend TekSavvy...no contracts (and thus no cancellation fee), $20 activation fee, not overly expensive ($36/month including tax). A bit slower than the comparable service from Bell (only 5Mbps), but cheaper and you're able to download more (200GB vs 25GB). Hope this helps!

Acanac is cheap and very reliable (and unlimited bandwidth). It's cheapest if you sign up (and pay) for 12 months at a time, though.

I'm a huge fan of Cogeco. Most reliable internet I've ever had (as compared to Bell and Rogers in other cities)
